I had something entirely different in mind to wear today and then looked at the beautiful weather forecast and made a game-time decision to switch into one of my recent thrifted Anthro-brand dresses…

$3.50 Maeve dress from Goodwill.
$3.50 Maeve dress from Goodwill with a hand-me-down cardi from my sis and Portofino sandals.

I suspect this dress is from several years ago but it is in great shape and #noanthroleftbehind and IT HAS POCKETS!

I didn’t know how much I loved dresses with pockets until I started thrifting.  In fact, I didn’t know how much I liked dresses period until I started thrifting!  I didn’t think the everyday woman could wear them, I was worried if I wore them to work or around my kids they would get wrecked, and I wanted somewhere to put my phone tissue!  There are two dress game-changers: thrifting – makes them affordable, and pockets – make them wearable.  And now, I won’t confess how many dresses I have but I will say I love them ALL!  Especially my dresses with pockets!

Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s 30 – 80 dresses in her closet! #happy

I do have to be choosy about when I wear dresses to work – on any given day, I could encounter paint, snot, the school gymnasium, swings and criss-cross-applesauce.  If you don’t know what that means, you probably work somewhere where you can wear dresses a lot more often than I can!

Thrifted this black necklace last week for $2 from Salvation Army Thrift Store! I love the vintage vibe!

One little pocket adds so much functionality!  When you go thrifting, keep an eye out for dresses with pockets, skirts with pockets and tops with pockets!

Unless it's a size 10 Anthro-brand dress with pockets for $3.50 - then leave it for me!

  1. I’m a huge fan of dresses with open backs, as well as incorporating lace into a wedding dress. Thank you for sharing the inspiration!
