After issuing the challenge then pinning all the half-tuck outfits on the Tuesday Try Pinterest board, I was quite inspired to give the half-tuck a…try. There was a fair amount of controversy right out of the gate! Some people think the half-tuck looks sloppy, others feel it emphasizes the muffin top or they just can’t get it right, yet many friends swear by it! They say it conceals the muffin, which is important information when you’re at the high end of normal after self-regulating with Chicago Mix for two weeks in preparation for another surgery date, but I digress. I gave the half-tuck a try with my recent find – a vintage navy polka dot blouse…

Here’s my conclusion about half-tucking: over-thinking and over-trying kills it. Just do it. Women of all shapes and sizes half-tuck!! Tuck your top in a little at the middle, off-center or at the side. Tuck in a lot or a little. Whatever. Just do whatever moves you in the moment because ultimately, it’s your attitude about what you’re wearing that matters. I spent the early part of my day with half-tuck #1 and the latter with half-tuck #3 and you know what? No one said a word about my half tuck. But I liked it, I felt just a smidgen unexpected and … stylish. So the half-tuck will stay part of my style strategy, especially during the relaxing days of summer (and post-op!)!!

The ladies at WORKHALL taught me the half tuck and I love it! I carry my weight in the stomach area so I feel really brave whenever I do the tuck. I think it’s pretty bad ass!
