I embraced navy as a favourite neutral a while ago but I tend to pair it with black, grey or colours… never brown hence this week’s Tuesday Try: wear navy and brown! I LOVED all the pinspiration! I don’t actually have a ton of brown in my wardrobe but I picked up a brown drapey cardi at the Sustain SU clothing swap and was happy to have a reason to break it out! Here’s where the dilemma comes in… I have 2 pairs of navy pants: my joggers and my cords, but I recently acquired a third pair from my mother-in-law who was kind enough to think of me when she saw a great deal! They fit, they are versatile for different seasons and I gratefully accepted them and planned to wear them for this Tuesday Try… BUT later I had to acknowledge that they are fast fashion…

Sigh. If someone gives you something that’s fast fashion, does that make it okay? I considered the fact that I’m not even comfortable “liking” photos with fast fashion pieces; I always think, “STOP BOASTING ABOUT THE PRICE.” Ultimately, I decided I can’t keep the pants. If they were thrifted, then they wouldn’t be part of the fast fashion cycle, but since they were regular retail clearance, I just can’t. (Sorry Di! This isn’t judgment, just me trying to be consistent.) So, I wore my cords instead…

P.S. Did you notice I forgot earrings?!! Why, because I was late, as per usual.
P.P.S. It’s my mother-in-law’s birthday today so a special HBD to you! Hope you had dark chocolate and lots of wine and one day soon I’ll take you thrifting, my treat!

So, with the gifted fast fashion what becomes of it? Are you donating and then someone else will thrift it and then it’s okay? It’s a fine balance and once its purchased then what. Sigh
I’m left to decide to recycle, donate or swap. Since it is a new garment, I will swap or donate it. It’s not ideal but the best for the circumstances.
