Welcome 2016!  I’m not *really* wearing pants today even though Dressember has concluded!  Just like I endeavoured to do, I wore a different thrifted dress every day (with, er, some to spare).  Here’s a recap in chronological order.

dec1-4 dec5-8 dec9-12 dec13-16 dec17-20 dec21-24 dec25-28

How do you like the mirrors at the Telus World of Science on December 29th?  And December 30th I promise I was wearing this dress but I also hosted a skating party hence the thrifted pink snow pants.

This has been the most successful Dressember campaign to date and if you would still like to make a donation, you can do so until January 31st.  The dresses are fun, but this is #biggerthanadress!  And the 40 Dresses campaign was also a great success – read all about it here!

Now, I’m a goal oriented person and it’s January 1st.  That means I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about goals and resolutions and my One Little Word for 2016.  Just in case you’re interested…

One Little Word 2016My word for 2016 is rest.  This is an extension of my Year of Mindfulness and is not just about rest in the physical sense but also in the faith sense – less self-reliance and more God-reliance which means some daily resolve and daily release.  Let it go, so some other blonde lady says.  Not sure how it will all play into this ol’ thrifted style blogging thing but join me in the journey and we’ll both find out along the way!

I think ‘rest’ sounds like a wonderful choice for this year! I feel like I’ve been singing ‘let it go’ in my head fairly regularly lately. U0001f609

  3. super_su I saw your word and did a little cheer!  Being mindful has already changed me since August – in some ways I don’t even remember thinking otherwise from how I now do!  I can’t wait to hear how your word works in your life and yep, that will require a “coffee” or two IRL!  Thanks always for your kind words – it means so much to me!!
