Summer Blogger - The Spirited Thrifter

Though I have been off work with the ol’ air cast for 6 weeks, summer didn’t really start until my kids finished school last week. Since then, we’ve been chilling out, going to parties, hosting parties and generally ~~spending hundreds of dollars at Costco~~ finding our summer groove which necessitates a little less blogging action. I hope that’s understandable because I’m quite enjoying my summer blogger mode! I have books to read and day drinks to blend after all – I can’t spend as much time with my computer! Of course, less blogging doesn’t mean less thrifting! I have no troubles keeping that up any time of year! I shared my June thrifting hauls (though I have one addition – SWEAT PANTS! It’s true. Prepare for the world to end because I actually bought black capri sweats that will fit over my cast because I just couldn’t sit around the campfire in my BCBG culottes. Needs must… needs must.) And I took advantage of my kids being happily engaged in Vacation Bible School to go thrifting with my best thrifting gals! Since my laptop died, you’re about to get the raw uncut, unedited recap! Pretty peachy colour and nice details.... probably would look better without a black bra... but it seems to make the girls look like like head lights or something. All I see are boobs. I've been hunting for a slip dress and this one was navy polka dots and a decent length!!! But the darts were in the wrong place. Or my boobs were in the wrong place (again). Shirt dress WITH POCKETS. Hella yes. (My kids have been blasting Macklemore. It's influencing my vocabulary. I'm looking for a little black dress that I can wear whilst camping. This one looked like a sure winner until I put it on and discovered a built in control-top slip. Another potential dress, another boob-area problem. It fit so funny I took it off before snapping a shot. Again, my friends with their truth: “Something’s wrong right there, right there with your boobs, they look all bunchy” (makes face). I GET IT.

Sandwich brand cardi with hot pink trim!! But a little tight and the sleeves a little long. Pass. (And could I take a moment to petition VV Boutique for some more flattering lighting in the dressing rooms! Some softly glowing candlelight or a little Valencia mirror filter??)
