I like theme parties, that’s well established.  When I learned my church was having an Alice in Wonderland themed ladies’ night, I was pretty excited!

And I just knew I would stumble on something perfect to wear…

And so I stumbled on this beauty for $7 at Value Village!  Flowy, sparkly, flowers!!  Perfect!
Worn by winter necessity with my $4.50 raspberry cardi and $8.50 purple suede boots!

Vintage purse…
Thanks to my awesome sistah for bringing me the perfect hat – thrifted ‘natch – to wear! Every tea party needs a good hat!

Sadly, I did not get photos of all the amazing costumes and decor so you’ll have to take my word that these ladies know how to COMMIT!

Brilliant DIY by Paula!

There was an Alice, several Mad Hatters, the Cheshire Cat, lots of steam-punk-esque style and plenty of florals!  Every detail was carefully thought out…

Thematic snacks and arm party by my fave – She Does Create!
My tea party dates, Janelle and Shannon!

Now, the costumes and decor and snacks are all in good fun but most importantly there was an inspiring message by four of the ladies, just everyday ladies like you and me living out their what, when, where, and who of this wonderland we find ourselves in.  I hope their message will be available on the City Life media page because I for one would love to listen to it again and would love to share it with my friends.  Meanwhile I will slay those untrue thoughts and weave back and forth along the 8-lane highway of my purpose heading straight towards Jesus!  (in a great thrifted outfit, of course!)  Thank you City Life for a wonderful evening!  Can’t wait for the next one!
