I called it a film to sound fancy but anyone who follows along on Facebook knows the more accurate description would be “rudimentary live video of questionable quality.”  But I didn’t let that stop me from trying something new!  I wanted to do a post on my thrifted jewelry and as I was gathering it, I realized it would be substantial undertaking to photograph it all, so decided to take the plunge into live Facebook videos to share my collection.  I have no idea why the focus was crappy inconsistent but it was fun nonetheless!  If you didn’t have a chance to watch it, head on over to my Facebook page and click on the thrifted jewelry collection video!  And if you’re curious how I organize my collection… TA DA!!!!

In my closet, in the area under the stairs, I put in shelving for my shoes and boots and used the surfaces to hold my jewelry!
I use a cork board for my earrings and collect little dishes for tchotchkes , big earrings, bangles, brooches and more!
I have a little mirror and some other mementos that make me happy!
I use hangers and s-hooks from Ikea to hold my bracelets and necklaces.  The little dish holds all the charms for my fave build-your-own pendant!
Loosely organized by colour!
LOVE the embroidery made just for me by the multi-talented Adina! It makes me happy every day.  Everything here makes me happy – the big pink bowl belonged to my grandmother who loved jewelry too (I come by it honestly), the silver box holds my brooches, the round bowl was made by my friend Suzanne, I made the pinch pot pottery bowl under the careful tutelage of Lana back in Alberta, and the tiny little dish is from when I lived in Korea.  Happy happy happy!

So there you go.  YES, I have a lot of jewelry but I have been collecting for years!  Keeping it orderly means my collection is functional – I can easily find what I want and put it away at the end of the day.  Makes building those arm parties a breeze!

If you watched my very first live Facebook video – THANK YOU!  If you have any other video requests, let me know!

  1. I’m blown away by the size of your collection — you’ve gotten some really fun pieces! I liked when you talked about when you want to jingle, too. The truth! Sometimes you just want to make a nice little noise when you’re moving around. 🙂

hee hee yes, over the years it has become a sizable collection but keeping it well organized is the key to it not being overwhelming!

  2. I have a pretty substantial collection of mostly thrifted pieces. I was thinking I need to cull the collection because I just don’t have space to store them, but you’ve given me hope! Thanks for sharing

Well that’s great! It’s worth reorganizing in order to keep all your babies! 😉 It tends to stay in style or at least come back round!
