Tie front blouse.  Bow tie blouse.  Tie neck blouse.  Secretary blouse.  There is no definitive term for these pretty blouses, but the more I see ’em, the more I like ’em.  Yet, I have had this Rachel Roy tie blouse for a loooong time and am only now getting around to wearing it.  WHY?!

Frankly, I just wasn’t sure how to wear it and hadn’t taken the time to do my usual Pinterest searching for inspiration until the Monday Style Prompt gave me a reason to!  Turns out there are a ton of pretty, funky, trendy, classic, vintage tie blouses styled with everything from shorts to pencil skirts.  Just like with my tulle skirt, I was drawn to the mix of “fancy”with casual and then my outfit came together!

One of the reasons I waited the winter to wear this blouse is the pretty pleated back – I hated the thought of covering it in cold weather with a cardi or blazer!

Now that I’ve finally worn this blouse and perused all the pretty pins, I am inspired to thrift more tie blouses!  The tie blouse is easy styling!  It’s a top plus accessory all in one!

I always announce the Monday Style Prompt on Facebook and Twitter, and I shared there that this is the final Monday before I break for summer holidays which means that the Monday Style Prompt will take a summer break as well!  There will still be plenty of spirited content on the blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram – just no Monday morning challenge unless you count “get out of pajamas by 10am” or “actually DO your hair” or “wait till noon for Baileys.”  See, the summer will be challenging enough so it’s a good time for a break! 😉
