I started doing my closet Konmari and came across some interesting things, like this concert tee from Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill tour!

I saw Alanis in Montreal in 1996.
Montreal… 1996… amazing.

You oughta know that it sparked great memories and tons of joy, and inspired me to rock it like the statement tee it is!

Alanis and Nanette...
Alanis and Nanette…

I did the same thing for this casual tee as I did for my casual joggers – dressed up the other pieces around it.  The juxtaposition works.

Alanis tee - priceless, Nanette Lepore skirt $8, Aldo pumps $14 and She Does Create turquoise necklace.

Why on God's green earth I got an XL shirt when I was about 25lbs smaller than I am here, I'll never know whether or not I oughta. To contend with the sleeves, I folded and rolled them then pinned it. I feel like a fashion designer now.

The shirt may be a bit boxy, but this blue-ish snakeskin pencil skirt made me feel smokin' hot all day. If I do say so myself.

The classic denim jacket goes with everything.
My classic denim jacket is just slightly younger than the tee!

Alanis and I are the same age, so we’re basically BFF’s and our friendship even weathered the storm of her dating my boyfriend, Ryan Reynolds.  Lots of my friends now are too young to know what Alanis meant to women in the 90’s.  She brought an incredible new style to music.  She dropped an F-bomb right in the middle of a song and sang truth.  She changed things.

Haven’t listened to this CD in ages but still know every single word.

I will never forget the Jagged Little Pill concert or her Junkie tour which I saw in Seoul in 1998 and yep, I kept that tee too!

I’ve got one hand in my pocket and the other one is giving a peace sign.

I was young in the 90s, but I always asked for her cd around birthdays and Christmas! Surprisingly, I got them (f-bomb among other things!) and I’m pretty sure I still have them 🙂
