April is almost over which means the Spark or Swap finale is looming and I need to quickly wear any outstanding iffy pieces…  And so today wasn’t very casual Friday for me because I need your opinion on a pretty silk dress!

This dress was a gift from my thoughtful sister Shannon and, just like the heart-print sweater, has everything going for it… beautiful bright colours, lovely fabric – and it’s a dress!  My fave!

Worn with my $7.70 coral wedges, coral belt $2.10, necklace BT (Before Thrifting) and She Does Create bracelet and earrings.

But something about it has me wondering if it sparks joy…

I even used Static Guard and felt like I might as well have been fumigating my home with pure poison, to no avail.

I did receive some compliments from work peeps on the dress, which is always a good sign as compared to polite gaze aversion and silence.

With my gifted Italian (for real) scarf from my favourite Megan.

I don’t subscribe to gift-guilt.  I welcome thrifted gifts and find it interesting what my sis picks out for me but I don’t believe you should hang onto something just because it was a gift.   I make shopping mistakes for myself at times – it’s no surprise that gifts face the same fate occasionally! However, there seems to be a slightly higher chance that gifts will be swapped… They missed that “love at first sight” moment and you can’t verify the fit (unless you’re shopping with your gifter!).

I fell in like with you, Dress, and it's time to decide whether we end this thing or take it to the next level!

Unlike the heart-print sweater, I do have about 60 5 belts and equal or more pairs of shoes that could easily change the look of this dress.

So you tell me, is this a SPARK or SWAP?!

I like the color and the fun print. Great for warmer season. But your body language isn’t happy or confident and that static cling thing would drive me batty. As I’m typing this I’m eyeballing a shirt in my closet with the same dang problem. Swap.

Swap. Fit isn’t great on you. I think it is too big. Does it spark enough joy for tailoring fees?

Keep it! Looks comfy, I love the color on you

I seem to be losing this debate…I stand by my choice

Maybe you could swap it to Julie Hoefling…or we need another closet raid..:)

I love it! But those are the colours I love. And it looks fabulous with your Italian scarf. I guess what that means is if there’s any possible way it will fit someone a foot shorter and a little wider than you…you should definitely swap, but in a very directed re-gifting way. U0001f609

I thought this was an easy ‘yes’ from the first cropped photo.  I love the dress colors & fabric but it needs tailoring. Would this dress not look amazing on Shannon?? Maybe shorten to a blouse, I think the flounce throws it off from stylish to not-quite-right.

I like the fit of the dress; it looks comfortable. The colours are very good on you. Great match with the coral wedge shoes!
