Y’all know MAM Resale Store & Boutique is one of my faves in Houston! I like the whole experience of shopping there and always find great things! My most recent visit with my sister Shannon was no exception!
Ready to find some trey-zure!
It seemed to be Cool Chair Day at MAM! So many great options!
Another set I liked!
These were the two I actually bought for $20 a piece! I loved the lyre on the back – reminds me of King David which I’m studying right now in BSF – and the colour scheme goes with my stuff. I’ll put up a clip on Instagram Story later today so y’all can see how they look in my home!
I am always on the lookout for furniture for my giant Texas house, but I don’t want to buy something just for the sake of filling up space. I’m totally okay with “making do” with what we have until I find the right piece. I liked this trunk/coffee table but it’s the wrong colour for my needs and let’s be real: I’m not going to refinish it. I can barely can’t even keep up with my laundry.
I’m also always on the lookout for art! I’m inspired by the lovely decor in my friend Elisa’s house – every area is a little tableau with furniture, art and decor that is meaningful and tells a part of her story. I liked the colours of this piece and the hummingbird, but it was too big and too commercial to earn a spot on my walls.
There were three of these prints and I was drawn to the colours but again, they’re too commercial for my taste. Also why three of the same? My home is not a hotel! {as evidenced by the lack of fresh sheets!}
Of all the artwork, I found this most intriguing. It’s a painting under a painting that has been partially scraped away. I maybe should have got it. Dang. #thriftregret
MAM has a great book section!! I could spend my whole time just perusing the books! I have never heard of this book and couldn’t quite grasp the metaphor even though I’m a paddler. But canoes are my husband’s love language so maybe I should have bought this for him!!
I did find a copy of this book that I selected for my pick for one of my book clubs! We met last night and shared a great meal and a great discussion! I even have some leftover Lingonberry Collins mix so check out IG Story later for that! I loved the book and found it very different from the other book I’ve read by the same author, Bear Town. Have YOU read either?
Next to the furniture, the shoes are my fave thing at MAM! I didn’t end up buying any shoes but spotted a few nice ones. These were just too small otherwise they would have come home with me!
Decided these Clarks were too grandma-ish, no offense to grandmas. Also, we are nearing the end of closed-toe shoe season in Houston!!
I’ve been seeing this brand more and more at the thrift stores but have yet to find MY pair!
Onto the clothing… I always wish I had a fancy event when I find a gorgeous beaded dress like this one for less than ten bucks. This deserves a party!!
And this vest deserves a … barbeque?? A parade?? I, er, passed on this handmade garment!
I did get this chambray dress and I love it! It’s so comfy!
Here it is in action:: long sleeve Gap chambray WITH POCKETS scored for $8 from @mamresale!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Worn with my $1.75 Rieker leather ankle boots, $4.20 Co-Lab bag and Icebreaker leggings
I also got this top because…
I can’t find a similar style on line but I think it’s legit. I KNOW it’s tight but I have some styling ideas in mind for it! Stay tuned! I consider this $4 worth of FUN!
That’s it! That’s all I got and to be quite honest, I can’t remember what all Shannon got but I DO remember we had a great time! Thanks MAM and we’ll be back soon!
SU!! I just listened to the audio version of Eleanor Oliphant right before Ove and LOVED it so much. For that reason, I rated Ove a little lower than I might have had I not just finished such a fab book. Next up if you haven’t read it (since we clearly have the same taste in books) you need to read The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. One of my faves.

Hi Nicole!
Sorry I messed you when you came to MAM with your sister. I would have loved to meet her. Ask for me when you come back. I can give you a tour of how we operate. You might like it. 🙂

I would love that, Stephanie! I did ask for you but didn’t want to be too insistent and interrupt your work! I will try and connect ahead of time the next time I come! Thanks for all you do!
