Do you ever have the kind of morning where you realize too late that the best that could be said about your outfit is “meh” but it’s just too late to do anything about it?  So it was for me this morning…

Wah wah wahhhh.
Wah wah wahhhh.

Here was my rationale: most Pinspiration had solid coloured scarves against a printed or solid top – simple and classic – so I figured I should wear my printed scarf against a solid, simple outfit.  I don’t usually have time to premeditate my outfits – even for the Tuesday Try – so if my instincts fail me, well, dang, I’m stuck with it.

I did a simple tie like some of the pins!

It was too dark and cold out this morning to go outside.

The outfit felt better than it photographed!  I liked the drapey artsy vibe of the scarf with the tunic with the pants – in any case, I gave it the Tuesday Try!

Nicole Miller tunic $8, Ann Taylor pants $4.40, scarf $1, Clarks booties $10, bracelets She Does Create and thrifted.

Regardless of the outfit, I like the scarf.
Regardless of the outfit, I like the scarf.  And no, I didn’t realize till just now I have a mustache in the photo.

I like that scarves like this have a place in fashion this Fall.  I like the idea of looping them around and looking chic.  Or not, if we’re talking about today, but one can hope for the future.

Love me some pattern mixing!

Regardless of the outfit, the window for wearing long skinny scarves is short!  They’re more of a necklace-substitution than functional outerwear, which we Canadians will need any day now.  So, I’m going to give this scarf another try in the next few days!  Did you give a skinny scarf an outing today?!

I didn’t try the skinny scarf but, my friend Cindy Ortiz did! Does that count?

I love how the scarf works with the bracelets. I wear long skinny scarves often WITH necklaces, of course U0001f60a

totally counts! 😉 Also you can try it any ol’ time! Or if you live in Canada, you have a couple days before the snow flies and a skinny scarf won’t cut it! 🙁

Live in Michigan. It won’t be too long of a wait for real scarf season.
