This is going to come as a shock, but I thrifted another dress.  I’m fresh out of 50 other options.  I love popping into little thrift stores whenever I have a chance and inevitably find some kind of treasure.  Like last week, I popped into 2nd Glance in Leduc and found a pretty Calvin Klein dress for $7!

I stopped into 2nd Glance in Leduc for a book and these popped into my cart I scored 3 books, this Volcom cardi and Calvin Klein dress for $14.50 total

Value Village dress prices range from about $9 to $25, with the standard price around $17, so non-profit and little thrift stores tend to have better non-sale prices.  This dress was missing a belt.  I have one or two or twenty-five that would coordinate just fine, but first I had to take care of my dress nemesis: the useless belt-loop threads.

Here's what I do: I snip these little loops off all my dresses. I don't need no belt loops to tell me where to put my belt! Or that I should have a belt at all. I'll make my own mind, thank you very much!

I couldn’t wait to wear this dress with perfect fall colours, and since Monday was a day of mostly sitting and no Velcro (my other nemesis) – a critical consideration for this kind of fabric – I pulled it to the front of the queue!

Pretty sure my cat was coming to admire the dress.  Worn with gifted but thrifted mustard cardi, Clarks boots $10, vintage teal leather belt $2, arm party by She Does Create and my thrifted collection.

I had a very difficult time deciding how to style this dress – so many options!  *why is life so hard*  I wanted to wear ankle boots in homage to the season, a decision I came to regret by 3pm- my post op foot was not ready – and thought I had the perfect belt…

But changed my mind once I saw the pics. It doesn't look bad but it just didn't feel right.

So I changed, with a brief explanation to my photographer about how Mommy is allowed to change her mind as long as it doesn’t make us late!

Turns out I wanted my pop of teal around my neck!

I LOVED the teal belt…but the necklace is awesome too:-P great colour contrast!

  2. I love the dress and belt. I would put the belt around the cardigan too, to belt both. Its a look that I like on myself. The booties are great. But with the recent foot surgery I wouldn’t wear them yet. Sometimes vanity gets the better of us.

Great minds think alike – I almost belted the cardi then decided against it for the practical reason that I knew I was going to be in a hot meeting room all day! But it is a good suggestion for the next wear! And yes, I’m missing my heels but should have been smarter!! Patience patience!! Thanks for reading!

  3. It looks like pheasant feathers – I’m in love! I liked the teal belt with it but you gotta do you.
