In my “day job” (er, only job), I work as a pediatric Occupational Therapist with children in preschool and kindergarten who have special needs.  It’s a blast!  Yesterday, one kid pointed at my face and said (quite clearly, I might add), “What’s that?”  He had noticed my eye shadow and was commenting on it.  That kid is a keeper!  I have all kinds of fun at work and I love wearing thrifted clothes to work because I’m never concerned about getting down on the floor or mucking around with paint and glue and everything else that comes along with the territory when my pieces usually cost less than a latte.  The classes I work in regularly have “colour days” where everyone wears that colour to help the children learn to identify and label colours… I consider these colour days as much a style prompt or fashion challenge as anything else and I love them!  There’s something unifying in colour days, like we’re all on the same team!  Lucky for me, the day I chose for the “chambray + a full skirt” Tuesday Try happened to blue day!  Happy coincidence!

Chambray $6 from Salvation Army Thrift Shop, skirt gifted but thrifted, suede Anthropologie-brand booties gifted but thrifted, She Does Create bracelet and earrings from my collection.

I happen to have a handy blue tattoo. I should have used it for Show 'n Tell.
I happen to have a handy blue tattoo. I should have used it for Show ‘n Tell… only to have all the kids go home and tell their parents about the teacher with the blue tattoo…. maybe not.
J'adore this skirt though.
J’adore this skirt!!
I was solo parenting this morning. That's the only possible explanation for the severe lack of bracelets. One?? What were you thinking, Nicole?
I was solo parenting this morning. That’s the only possible explanation for the severe lack of bracelets. One?? What were you thinking, Nicole?!  If I could rewind time, I would have added at least two more and maybe a statement necklace.  Sigh.
Solo parenting is also the culprit behind my au naturel hair... I can only do TWO things on these mornings: shave my legs and do my makeup OR do my makeup and my hair. Today the legs won.

Chambray shirts look good with pretty much any bottom in pretty much any colour but for this Tuesday Try, I wanted to give fuller skirts a date with chambray!

The Tuesday Try prompts are all about exploring personal style.  Easy fashion formulas like “chambray + full skirt” really are a God-send to busy women!  Did YOU give this a whirl for the Tuesday Try?!

Would it be wrong to wear some version of this tomorrow too?
