Last weekend when I was thrifting with Jodi and Audrey, I came across a pair of brown culottes… I already have a grey pair and a denim pair, and I already know, culottes are not for the faint at heart. They’re not slimming, the length doesn’t work on everyone, they’re not mainstream fashion… yet they have a funky vibe and they’re super-comfortable and they’re quite functional. As in, they offer the freedom of movement of a skirt without the danger of flashing innocents. So I snatched up those brown culottes and wore them ASAP!
Jodi and Audrey looked at me with skepticism when I tried the culottes on, but I knew immediately they would work great with my relatively new-to-me clogs!
I did end up ditching the blazer for most of the work day, but otherwise wore these culottes, happy as a clam, from sun up to way past sun down and was comfortable the whole time. I will wear them into the winter with tights and boots and plan to style them up like any neutral pant! And honestly, I have been looking for brown pants for some time, ever since giving up on past pairs that weren’t that good to begin with.
I have no sage advice around culottes; a quick Pinterest search will show you a variety of ways to style culottes of varying lengths and widths – all on size 2 models. #nothelpful So I say, give culottes a try and if after a few wearings you like how they feel, then go for it. And if you have a pair of clogs to wear with them, well, they’re MFEO.
