There’s nothing quite as much fun as having a bunch of gorgeous jewelry over for a party. I mean, a bunch of gorgeous friends! Tonight, in the tradition of “home parties” with a shop local twist, I hosted my talented sister She Does Create for a “trunk show” in my minimally impeccably clean home. We had snacks, warm cozy festive bevvies and the chance to visit and shop for Christmas gifts and ourselves.
Most of us have been to our fair share of home parties and I think it’s great to support your friends and women entrepreneurs, but when you host a local designer and support her business, there’s no middleman. It’s a transaction between you and the artist and somehow it is just more intimate and meaningful, at least IMHO.
Christmas shopping season is not over and I encourage everyone to continue to shop small and local, whether that’s at a store, a market or a home party like mine tonight! Thanks to my friends and family and sister for a great evening! Now, I have to go plan which dress I’m wearing tomorrow to go with my new necklace!
