Thirty days has September… and yet September seems like a LONG month, a long busy month with hardly any time to thrift, yet I managed to spend my budget with enough time to spare that I already dipped into my October budget for some irresistible suede Marsala booties!  But we’re not here to talk about October!  We’re here to find out just what I got for $50.90 – that’s my $50 monthly thrifting budget plus 90 cents carry over and YES I’m carrying over every last penny.  In chronological order, here’s what I thrifted in September:

London Rebel grey leather boots $11.90
London Rebel grey leather boots $11.90

I LOVE these boots!  They had a small mark on the toe that I easily removed with a Norwex cloth and otherwise they were hardly worn!  They are my comfort colour, they ARE comfortable and they look kick-ass stylin!  My guess is that they would retail for around $100 or more.

Stealthy bathroom selfie at church because I ❤️ these grey lace-up leather London Rebel boots I scored for $11.90. I feel bad-ass... At church. #winning #rebel #selfierebel

Next up, my only September accessory!  Though I kept most my belts after Konmari-ing my closet, I was still lacking a yellow belt, till now!

Yellow "patent vegan leather" belt. (I totally made that term up.)

Love the belt, don't love looking like a boy who never grows up.

JCrew says yellow and blush go together but more importantly, they remind me of fruity cocktails. Blush corduroy blazer $9 from Salvation Army Thrift, yellow belt $3.50 & striped dress $5 from @valuevillage_thrift, sequinned flats gifted but thrifted, accessories from my collection and @shedoescreate

Next up, the pants I can’t stop wearing, which is saying something.

Navy "joggers" $4.20, AKA my new favourite pants because they might as well be pajamas yet they still look professional.

It's not that I'm not happy it's Fall, I just didn't feel like wearing Fall colours today. Joggers $4.20 from @valuevillage_thrift, floral tee $6 from Salvation Army Thrift store, coral blazer $2 from @goodwill_ab plus shoes BT (Before Thrifting) and a mix of accessories from @shedoescreate and thrifted.

"Michael Kors Monday" is what I'll call this #ootd. And yes, I'm wearing the joggers again BECAUSE THEY'RE AWESOME. Geometric print Michael Kors blouse $9.10, navy joggers $4.20, Franco Sarto patent peep toe coral espadrille wedges $7.70 plus accessories from my collection.
These joggers are already almost under a dollar per wear and the month isn’t even over!  From Instagram this week:  “Michael Kors Monday” is what I’ll call this #ootd. Next up, I’ve been hunting for hot pink flats since my other ones kicked the bucket.  These aren’t leather (and are from Winner’s) but they are cute and comfy.  They’ll be perfect indoor shoes for the long winter months ahead!

Fuchsia flats, $4.90.

I did wear these one day but I don’t have a photo so it might as well not have happened. #sucharethetimes

I didn’t thrift the next couple pieces myself.  I am lucky enough to have a thrifting mentor and big sis who looks out for my thrifting needs.

Vintage (?) handmade 2-piece suit of awesomeness, $10.00
I totally *needed* this vintage (?) handmade 2-piece suit of awesomeness, $10.00

This suit makes my heart sing!  It’s so special, I’ve kinda been saving it even though I’m against saving special things for special days.  I think we should wear our special clothes to make ordinary days special!

Look at those colours! Look at that pattern!

This suit is a true treasure.  It fits great and is handmade – the opposite of fast fashion.  To whoever made this suit then donated it, thank you from the bottom of my heart because I love it!  The month could have ended here and I would have been content.  But it didn’t and my sister Shannon found me a hall-of-fame find that I ADORE.

Only a piece as AMAZING as this dress could surpass my love for that suit.

This dress would retail for more than $1000.  That right there should be enough to make every person reading stop, drop whatever you’re doing and go thrifting!!!

Lida Baday is perhaps my favourite designer. This is my THIRD Lida Baday piece after a charcoal blazer and black dress.

Look at the impeccable details! That zipper, the flattering ruching!!! It is slightly too big for me and this is one dress that I will get custom tailored. Then I need party. Anyone?

At first I took a selfie kissing the dress... too far. But I had to express my love somehow!

To recap my September thrifting

September budget with carry over $50.90

  • London Rebel boots – $11.90
  • Yellow belt – $3.50
  • Navy joggers – $4.20
  • Fuchsia flats – $4.90
  • Skirt suit – $10
  • Lida Baday dress – $17.00
  • TOTAL: $51.50

That puts me just slightly over budget which means I will start October at $49.40.  I think I can live with that considering my thrifted purchases were worth hundreds and hundreds more than what I spent and are now irreplaceable pieces of my wardrobe that definitely spark joy!  Stay tuned to see how I style up these pieces and don’t miss out on first peeks into my October thrift finds on Instagram!
